Due: June 30, 2026
The International Symposium on Bilingualism 2027 (ISB 16) invites symposia submissions. The conference will take place June 14–18, 2027, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The symposia abstracts submission deadline is June 30, 2026.
Symposia are 120-minute sessions with a thematically united set of related papers. Each symposium includes four slots: either four presentations or three presentations plus a discussion. For the latter option, no discussion abstract is required—simply enter “Discussion” at the end of the third abstract.
The conference areas (which will have to be selected in relevance to your submission) are Bi-multilingual Speech Production and Communication; Bi-multilingual Cognition, Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, and Speech Perception; Child and Adolescent Bi-multilingual Development; Adult Bi-multilingual Development; Language Education and Pedagogy in Bi-multilingual Contexts; Heritage, Immigrant, Regional and Other Minority Languages; Indigenous Languages (documentation, maintenance, education, and other related topics); Translation and Interpreting; Sociolinguistics and Sociology of bi-multilingualism; Bi-multilingualism in Speech-language Pathology and Health Sciences.
Proposals must include:
a general symposium abstract (the proposed symposium overview) (max 350 words), and
abstracts for each presentation (max 350 words each).
References (if included) should follow APA 7 style.
The total proposal length (overview + 3–4 abstracts, including references) must not exceed 1,600 words. Each abstract should clearly outline background, objectives, methods, results, and applications. The symposium proposal submitting organizer(s) must obtain consent from all participants prior to submission.
All proposals must be anonymized. Remove identifying details from abstracts. Author names, affiliations, and presentation titles must be provided separately in the designated submission field (not visible to reviewers).
Submit proposals via Oxford Abstracts by June 30, 2026: https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/stages/82055/submitter
Further details will be announced in due course. The call for individual papers opens July 2, 2026 (deadline: October 1, 2026).
